Founded in 2020, Best in the West specializes in chile pepper processing.

Located in Deming, NM, our focus is producing shelf-stable New Mexico grown “Hatch” chile products. Previously separate companies Los Roast and Santa Fe Ole came together under the Best in the West banner to increase the production capabilities and overall quality of both brands.

We source our fresh peppers from trusted local farmers during the short harvest season.

Our purpose built facility utilizes automated processing equipment to achieve authentic products at scale. We have the ability to flame roast, peel, dice, puree’, and package any variety of pepper. We also have the capability to create custom formulations and offer co-packing for food service and retail glass jars. All of our products are shelf stable and all natural, our facility does not process any products containing allergens or potential GMO ingredients.

Santa Fe Ole is a pioneer of the shelf stable southwest food category and has been producing high quality products for decades. Los Roast and partner company A La Maquina have developed novel roasting equipment and pepper processing techniques. So, while the Best in the West banner is newly formed, there are decades of quality commitment backing our new venture.
